Optoelectronic Materials and Devices

TEAM
Principal Investigator
Dr. Mengxia Liu is an Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering at Yale University. Mengxia obtained her B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from Tianjin University in 2014, and the Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto in 2018. Her Ph.D. study in Ted Sargent's group focused on the design of novel nanostructured materials for solar energy harvesting and optical sensing. From 2018 to 2021, Mengxia worked as a postdoctoral fellow with Dr. Akshay Rao at the Department of Physics, University of Cambridge. Her research at Cambridge included the fundamental study of emerging semiconductors using ultrafast spectroscopy and the application of novel hybrid materials in light-emitting devices. She joined the Department of Electrical Engineering at Yale University in 2022.
Mengxia has benefited greatly from working with remarkable groups of dedicated scientists and engineers. Her goal at the Yale University is to pass on her passion and enthusiasm for science to her students and postdocs.
